Professional Chocolatier
As
a resident of Whidbey Island I live my passion for chocolate through
Island Angel Chocolates. I have always loved chocolates, but it
wasn't until my son, Phillip, volunteered me to make chocolates
for one of the local bakeries that I knew I was born a chocolatier.
I graduated from Ecole Chocolat,
based in Vancouver, BC with a Professional Chocolatier Certificate.
I studied the history, chemistry and artistry of chocolate including
recipe development. My mantra is Live Your Passion!

I
came to Whidbey Island to complete my internship for college in
the 1980's. After completing college I have made the island my home
ever since. My passion is my wife and I get to live her passion
through Island Angel Chocolates. My primary role in the chocolate
business is to make the ganache. That's the smooth, creamy center
found in all the truffle pieces that we make. Because of that I've
picked up the nick name of the ganache man.
Our
Family
Tony
and I are a true to life love story. We met when I was eighteen
and he was only sixteen. From the time we met we were steadfast
friends. No romance evolved from our friendship so after knowing
each other seven years we basically went our separate ways--he chose
school and I chose marriage. And then many years later our paths
crossed again. He had graduated with a Master's Degree from Wright
State University and I had a Life Degree from a relationship that
had long ended. The friendship we cherished when we were teenagers
quickly blossomed into a strong and deep love. We were married on
Whidbey Island on a stormy December day. We have Muggles, our Golden
Retriever and Furlock Holmes, the cutest little cream colored tabby
you've ever seen.

Philosophy
Our passion is serving you, our customer,
and we are always open to comments and suggestions to further your
chocolate experience. Our goal is to receive the gifts that we are
continually blessed with and return those gifts to our community
and the world through contributions of our time, talent, and the
success of Island Angel Chocolates and 1 Angel Place, Chocolate
Bar.
