In August I was blessed with a special gift from two talented Langley women. Shirley and Ann spent an afternoon in the meditative creation of this beautiful chalk sunflower. This month's newsletter is written specifically with a focus on the beautiful things that surround us every day. The sunflower lasted only one day as mother nature saw fit to sprinkle rain droplets that washed away the chalk. However, it was just what I needed to propel me into an attitude of gratitude. Thank you Shirley and Ann for sharing your time, your talent, and your love for our community through this beautiful work of art.

The Dandelion Greens
Our last concert of the summer will feature The Dandelion Greens. The Dandelion Greens is a musical portrayal of the American experience through the use of influences including folk, rockabilly, bluegrass, alternative country, and insightful and refreshing storytelling by the true seekers of authentic Americana. Founded by members Joe Cook and Pete Keating, the Dandelion Greens use only acoustic instrumentation emphasizing the use of space with alternating rhythms for uncluttered organic feel.
Cakes
Whether you would like to come in and grab a cake or special order a cake, we can do it! Now in the cooled case are 6" cakes for a Grab n' Go dessert. Since we are still seeing what our customers want, we'll be doing several different varieties--chocolate fudge, vanilla pound, cheesecakes and more. All small two layer cakes are $13.95 and our single layer 6" cheesecakes are $9.95.

Custom cakes and cupcakes now available. Cupcakes sizes are small for $1.25 each and jumbo for $3.95 each. Cake sizes and prices are 6" double layer $13.95, 1/4 sheet double layer $24.95, 1/2 sheet double layer, $39.95. All prices are base cake prices.
Eyes Have It
Tis the season to be haunting and that's what we're up to! Of course, we'll have our usual fall favorites in the shop--pumpkin truffles, pumpkin fudge, the eyes have it truffles, and caramel apples.
We'll be adding some new scary delights. What are they? You'll just have to come in and see. You never know what we could be cooking up.
Turkey Placard
Complete your Thanksgiving place settings with a customized Chocolate Turkey placard. They come complete with each guests name written in white chocolate on the base. What a special treat for your Thanksgiving table. Turkeys must be ordered in advance and are $5.95 each.

Also, coming for Thanksgiving are petite pumpkin pies and chocolate cornucopias filled with cookies. Yummy treats ahead.
Violet & Kim
With the end of summer comes some changes in the faces you'll see at our little shop. We actually have two new faces--Violet and Kim. Violet comes to us from Island Coffee House and will be there to serve you on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Kim comes to us from across the water in the land of the America's. She has a culinary arts degree and will be assisting me in creating more wonderful treats as well as serving you. She'll be here to serve you on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

We welcome both of them to our Island Angel Family!
Lifelong Aids
Each quarter, Island Angel Chocolates, LLC contributes a portion of truffle sales to a non-profit organization. The organization may be local or national. For the second quarter of 2007 our support went to the Lifelong Aids Alliance with a donation of $316.00.
