The holiday season is here. It seems impossible that it has come so fast. But it has and it's time to reflect on the very best things.....

The Thanksgiving Turkey! My mom was not really a cook but there was one thing that she never failed at and that was the Thanksgiving Turkey. She stuffed it with oyster dressing. That may not be everyone's favorite but to me it was a taste of Heaven. It was truly wonderful. And then comes Christmas.

It's Christmas Eve. I'm in our living room and all the lights are out..... except for the tree. It's quiet... except for the sounds of holiday music. The smell of the winter snow mingling with the rustic smell of wood burning in the fireplace surrounds me with it's warmth. It's a time for reflection, If I close my eyes I can put myself in this very special place and my whole body relaxes and a little smile comes across my face.

But the very best thing for me is taking the time to get to know my family and friends a little deeper so I can pick the perfect gift for them. Sometimes we are so close to someone that we tend to forget who they really are, what they really like, and what really makes them happy. Let's get reacquainted with those closest to us this year and love them they way they want to be loved. Maybe it's a gift of chocolate and maybe it's not.
